Our client, a large, global and well-known consulting firm, is seeking to hire an oil & gas focussed Associate Director, with outstanding asset management, asset health and investment planning skills, gained from the water industry and/or management consultancy experience. You should have an excellent industry network and be seen as an expert within the asset management field.
This team leads exciting projects across both public and private sectors principally focused on major capital and infrastructure portfolios in Water, Energy, Transport, Defence, Oil and Gas, Property and Health. This is a fast-growing area offering many opportunities, building upon a global capability in Asset Management where they provide:
- Asset organisation and operating model transformation
- Analytics and asset management improvement programmes
- Asset investment strategy development and planning
- Infrastructure resilience and adaptation including value-based frameworks
- Assurance and internal audit of infrastructure activities, data and reports
The work is varied, fast-paced, often high-profile and rewarding. Our client is working with leaders in the public sector and industry partners on issues including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), resilience of the UK’s utilities sector in the face of climate change and the future structure of the rail sector. They are looking for people with a passion for identifying, creating and delivering transformative solutions which help their public and private clients to deliver some of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes in the UK, while maintaining delivery of key business and customer outcomes.
This role is critical in leading client workstreams, supporting business development and helping our team to grow and develop. Key areas you will contribute to the team include:
- Delivering large, complex client engagements, operating at board level and the level below.
- Management of teams whilst on client engagements and broader teams across the business.
- Focusing the deployment of asset management capability on client engagement and within the Firm.
- Managing the use and development of Asset Management tools and methodologies across the team and within client engagements.
- Engaging with global teams, including the Global Asset Management community to leverage resources and capabilities, developing robust approaches to the supporting service lines.
- Managing the day-to-day relationship with key client contacts, ensuring service is responsive to their needs.
- Managing client engagement teams and delivery of work to clients, ensuring the production of high-quality deliverables.
- Financial management, ensuring timely raising of fee notes and assisting in the recovery of fees, and keeping clients informed of costs and time incurred on an appropriately regular basis.
- Supporting the development of the team's brand with thought leadership and speaking engagements.
The individual must be proactive, able to work at pace and provide practical solutions that deliver value to clients. The individual must have the ability to deal with ambiguity and to put in place frameworks to structure their thinking and communicate effectively to stakeholders. A track record of delivering high quality outputs and an extensive industry network is essential.
Experience focused on realising the strategic value of asset management at an enterprise level, not just engineering/operational level application:
- Experience engaging with Board-level representatives on strategic asset management topics
- Understanding infrastructure organisation operating models and ability to assess the end-to-end process for asset management and infrastructure delivery (including operations and maintenance) for asset-intensive organisations
- Experience with asset life-cycle decision-making and the ability to manage and direct the creation of asset management plans, capital programmes or maintenance regimes
- Assessing and managing risks at both a service/network level and an asset level
- Strong analytical skills and/or strong written, communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of asset management information and knowledge management
- Experience in one or more key sectors of Oil & Gas, Energy Transition, Natural Resources or Utilities
- Track record of managing client relationships
- Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Commercial awareness
- Relevant advisory / consulting / assurance experience
