We are seeking 2 Education Advisors to support education settings and local authority services in improving educational outcomes for children and young people known to social care. The role requires a deep understanding of barriers faced by these children, a commitment to prevention, and the ability to develop and embed policy and practice that supports improved outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Work at a strategic school and system level to remove barriers to learning and enable full access to well‑matched education.
- Provide expert guidance, support and appropriate challenge to schools and the wider professional network using a solution‑focused, trauma‑informed approach.
- Partner closely with education settings, social care, SEND, and other stakeholders; use data and best practice to influence culture, policy and practice.
- Ensure continuous improvement and statutory compliance, securing high‑quality, inclusive education for all.
- Build relationships with senior leaders in schools and other key partners to promote inclusion, addressing concerns around attendance, suspension, exclusion and engagement.
- Communicate effectively, organize efficiently, and work independently within a wider team.
- Travel outside Cambridgeshire as required.
Qualifications
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of the education system and recent experience working in a school, local authority or virtual school.
- Strong understanding of the barriers faced by care‑experienced children.
- Familiarity with SEND, exclusions, attendance and admissions statutory guidance.
- Experience supporting and challenging senior leaders to promote inclusion.
- Excellent communication, organisational and initiative skills.
- Willingness to travel outside Cambridgeshire.
