We are a busy generic social work team, offering support to people over the age of 18 with physical disabilities.
Our team supports a variety of social care duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. The team supports individuals to achieve their personal outcomes, works with unpaid carers and other statutory functions such as adult safeguarding enquiries. Our focus is on supporting people to remain living safe and well in their local communities and care home placements.
The role is varied on a day-to-day basis and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, creativity and autonomy. The work includes applications for courts, continuing healthcare and adult safeguarding. The team is currently working to a hybrid model, with part-remote and flexible options available in line with our service needs.
Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an enhanced disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Responsibilities
The role will require you to lead on practice and performance development through the provision of high quality supervision and support of staff in line with the Care Act principles. You will take a lead on highly complex cases, working creatively in partnership with others to manage risk. You will also provide leadership, through managing essential functions of the team including complex safeguarding situations and supporting team members to promote good practice.
Qualifications
You will be passionate about being a Social Worker, a great leader and someone who is keen to share your knowledge and experience with others. As such you will be a SWE registered Social Worker with a minimum of 4 years’ experience and preferably a Practice Educator or working towards this. You will have a high level of interpersonal skills, undertaking multi-agency work with partner organisations, providers, individuals, families and carers.
