We are seeking enthusiastic Project Support Officers to support a variety of projects including projects within the Future Council and Major Change Portfolios..

Overview of roles

  • 1 x Project Support Officer (permanent)
  • 1 x Project Support Officer (fixed term to 31/12/27)

The roles sit within Cambridgeshire County Council's Change and Delivery Service, who work across the council and the wider system to plan, implement and deliver the identified outcomes and benefits of the change portfolio. Using the council's project management framework, standards and practice, your role will be to manage the production and maintenance of key documentation such as project plans, highlight reports, Risk, Actions, Issues Decisions (RAID) logs, and formal and informal meeting and workshop documentation.

The Project Support Officer will be required to communicate well across project/programme stakeholders, within the Programme and Service Improvement Team, staff groups, partner organisations and stakeholder groups within directorates.

What will you be doing?

As Project Support Officer you will support the Programme and Project Managers to oversee a range of Change activity across the whole council. Working effectively, in line with the council's Project Management methodologies and standards to manage the production and maintenance of key documentation such as project plans, highlight reports, Risk, Actions, Issues Decisions (RAID) logs, and formal and informal meeting and workshop documentation.

The Project Support Officer will be required to communicate well across project/programme stakeholders, within the Programme and Service Improvement Team, staff groups, partner organisations and stakeholder groups within directorates.

A key function of the role will be to support the project team members to ensure they fully utilise the MS Project Online system (POWA). Advising and assisting project team members in the application of project procedures and disciplines, taking responsibility for recording and reporting on standards throughout the project lifecycle.

  • reporting and project tools to effectively manage and monitor projects and workstreams.
