Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for a Finance Assistant to join the Children's Commissioning Finance Team on a permanent basis. What will you be doing?

You will provide effective and accurate payment of c£55 million of Children's Commissioning transactions, ensuring that Providers are accurately paid and agencies invoiced. You will assist with the monitoring of budgets in accordance with Council financial processes, systems and instructions and complete regular integrity checks and reconciliations to ensure that all payments made are correct. This is a hybrid role working flexibly from home and New Shire Hall in Huntingdon.

About you

You will have previous experience in finance, including working with finance systems and maintaining accurate financial records. Knowledge of payment systems such as ERP and CONTROCC is an advantage. You will have strong data accuracy skills, with experience in data entry, reconciliations, and document maintenance and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You will have the ability to work independently while maintaining positive, collaborative working relationships with colleagues, other teams, and partners and you will be able to demonstrate strong organisational ability, including prioritising workload, meeting deadlines, managing multiple tasks such as invoice processing, query handling, digital document filing, and record keeping. You will also be someone with effective interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to proactively lead on and resolve provider queries relating to payment, able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams effectively. You will be reliable, professional and have a respectful approach, demonstrating consistency, accountability, and the ability to be trusted with sensitive financial information and time critical tasks.
