EHCP Casework Officer

We are looking to recruit a number of EHCP Casework Officers to join our dedicated Statutory Assessment Team (SAT). Opportunities are available across our Assessment Team, Review Team, and Complex Case Resolution Team, supporting mediation and SEND Tribunal activity. These roles are central to ensuring children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities receive timely, high-quality support through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) process.

Whether coordinating new assessments, managing annual reviews, or resolving complex cases through mediation and legal processes, you will work closely with families, schools, settings and multi-agency professionals to secure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

As an EHCP Casework Officer, you will manage a caseload of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, leading the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment, annual review processes or appeals/mediations. You will work closely with families, schools and multi-agency professionals to develop high-quality, person-centred EHCPs, ensure provision meets identified needs, and support positive outcomes for children and young people.

The role involves coordinating meetings, presenting cases to decision‑making panels, negotiating placements and provision, resolving complex issues, and ensuring all statutory deadlines and legal requirements are met. You will play a key role in building effective partnerships, supporting informed decision-making, and helping to deliver high-quality SEND services across the county.

We are looking for organised, resilient and solution-focused professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. You will be an excellent communicator, able to build positive relationships with families, schools and multi-agency professionals, while confidently managing complex conversations and competing priorities.

You will have strong analytical and written skills, enabling you to interpret professional advice, make informed recommendations and produce high-quality, person‑centred EHCP documentation. Whether you have experience in SEND casework, education, health, social care or a related field, you will bring a commitment to delivering a responsive, child‑centred service, meeting statutory deadlines and finding creative solutions to complex issues.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can work collaboratively, think critically, and remain calm and professional when handling challenging cases and sensitive situations.
