Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking to recruit a fixed term Transport Officer to support the Delivery Team work within the Passenger Transport Team whilst the current Officer is on Maternity Leave. The post is full-time fixed for a period of 6 months with a possible extension. For internal candidates this could be a secondment opportunity, but employees must first seek the agreement of their current service manager if they wish to apply on that basis.

Interviews will be held on Tues 18th March 2026 at New Shire Hall, Emery Crescent, Enterprise Campus, Alconbury Weald, Huntingdon PE28 4YE. Shortlisting will be on the 10th March 2026. You will be required to deliver a short presentation as part of the selection interview process. The subject of the presentation will be included in emails sent to short-listed candidates.

After initial induction/training it is expected that the postholder will work flexibly with 1–2 days in the office and the balance working from home.

What will you be doing?

Areas of work will include procuring transport under CCC procurement rules and best practice, financial and contractual administration, providing customer service to all stakeholders, and ensuring that transport services are delivered to meet safeguarding policies and client needs, whilst continuing to ensure best value for money.

About you

Applicants need to be educated to a higher education level or hold equivalent qualifications or experience. The role will work with key stakeholders, Transport Operators, Schools/Settings, Young People, Parents/Carers to procure and deliver effective transport services.
