Principal Mechatronics Engineer

Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join our world class engineering team. You will be working on projects in the Healthcare sectors that shape the world’s technological advancements in Mechatronics Design.

As part of our talented mechatronics team, you’ll take a hands-on role in designing ground-breaking mechanical equipment that improves lives worldwide. You’ll also guide more junior engineers in their work on complex mechatronic systems. The Role

Most of your time will be focused on delivering the best mechatronic hardware design possible for our multi-national medical technology clients, understanding their requirements and communicating clearly and effectively. You’ll be hands-on in developing innovative mechanical solutions, often alongside other disciplines, and in supportive project teams. You’d be working on projects across a range of healthcare sectors including Surgical Robotics, Life Sciences, Diagnostics, Bio-innovation and Drug Delivery. Our work varies greatly for our clients, but it’s likely you’ll be leading work such as first-principle engineering analyses, hands on testing and experimentation, detailed machine design and implementation, and liaising with suppliers. Your experience in these areas means you’ll be able to design systems and parts for manufacture with real world knowledge. You’ll be guiding mechatronics developments and defining technical solutions. You’ll also mentor and develop junior engineers within your field of expertise.

You will bring an impressive mechatronics ability and enthusiasm to the role. You’ll have industry experience and apply that to the role to make fantastic impact.

Our ideal requirements are:

• An undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related subject, such as Biomedical, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics etc) or equivalent experience.
• In-depth mechatronics and/or machine design industry experience.
• Highly proficient in CAD, design analysis, structural analysis, rapid prototyping, technical drawings, design for manufacture, design for assembly.
• Experience in guiding the technical work of more junior colleagues.
• Specific experience in hardware design for moving machinery, ideally in a robotics context.
• Specific experience in medical device development is not a prerequisite for the role. However, an interest in Healthcare and a willingness to work in a regulated field is needed.
