We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our internationally recognised Human Factors and Usability Engineering team, where you’ll be working on healthcare projects within Cambridge Consultants.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with an interest in user-centred design, to contribute to cutting edge development programmes using their knowledge and skills. In this role you will work with highly skilled engineers, designers and scientists in a dynamic environment on a range of projects with exposure to all aspects of the medical product design and development process.

Human Factors Engineers at Cambridge Consultants are hands-on, undertaking the development of innovative medical products from understanding users’ and stakeholders’ needs through to concept generation, design, development, verification and validation, with the objective of improving patient’s lives.

What you’ll be doing

You will be involved in activities such as front-end user insight research, risk analysis, concept generation with participation in creative workshops; evaluating concepts with real users, guiding the design to improve products’ user interface and conducting usability testing. There will be opportunities to meet clients and manage small Human Factors tasks within projects.

What you can bring

  • You’ll have a degree in Human Factors, Usability, Ergonomics, Social Sciences, Psychology, Engineering, Design or other relevant courses.
  • You will be passionate about product design and technology with a strong emphasis on Human Factors and Usability and empathy for users.
  • You should have strong communication skills with the ability to conduct user interviews and focus groups, and to prepare and effectively present high quality technical documentation and presentations.
  • You should be willing to work as part of a team in Cambridge on fast-paced projects, with a willingness to learn.
  • You should be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
