Cambridge Consultants (CC) is looking for an experienced Events Manager to join our expanding global marketing team on a 6-month contract, with an immediate start date. This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver a diverse range of high-quality event experiences, predominantly focused in the healthcare market in the UK and US, promoting one of the world's leading innovation companies to its audiences around the world. This is a creative and varied role within a fast-paced organisation. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, with lots of energy, an eye for detail, and a real passion for delivering compelling experiences. Working for a company at the forefront of deep tech, creating tomorrow's breakthroughs, this role is pivotal in positioning CC as a world leader to its most important clients and contacts. This role requires you to work on-site at our Cambridge offices at least 3 days per week.
The global marketing team supports CC's marketing activities through the UK, Europe, US and Asia. The group is responsible for defining the marketing strategy across the company and then delivering on that strategy through a variety of channels, including events, digital and public relations. Sitting within the Demand Generation team, you will join other marketing & events professionals who, together, design and manage over 50 client-facing exhibitions, virtual events, sponsorships, hosted events and speaking opportunities each year. To deliver this effectively, you must be a tested and talented event organiser. You will be a team player, willing to turn your hand to a range of tasks and work with colleagues to deliver outstanding results. You will also be experienced in conducting a range of measurement techniques to understand the impact and value of our event investments.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Head of Demand Generation, Events Manager and wider marketing team to deliver events that support our overall marketing objectives.
- Deliver a range of events, starting with an initial business brief, development of approach and project plans, through to seamless execution. This will include a range of third-party exhibition activities – including speaking, sponsoring and exhibiting, plus our own hosted events.
- Work with the wider marketing team to deliver a complete marketing and event package, including graphic design, database management, administration, PR, social media, digital, and website.
- Work with the internal key stakeholders on all events, including rehearsals where required.
- Work with logistics companies to ensure that all exhibition equipment and materials are developed and delivered to venues, that staff attending the event are fully briefed and supported and that all relevant paperwork is completed.
- Work with external conference organisers, building strong relationships.
- Attend exhibitions or events occasionally to ensure smooth running and to help with set up and tear down.
- Manage the packing of event equipment for shipping, either solely or working with an administrator.
- Project managing event budgets.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll need the following experience:
- Significant experience of relevant marketing and event management, particularly in exhibitions – We're seeking someone that will hit the ground running.
- Experience creating and implementing digital marketing campaigns around events.
- Strong project and budget management, with excellent attention to detail.
- Creative flair and a strong understanding of what makes a great delegate experience.
- Highly organised and efficient, able to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to handle physical activities including pack-ups, setups and tear-downs.
- Strong communication skills to support event discussions with internal clients around the business and to drive consensus in approach when views differ.
Beneficial experience
- Experience of Healthcare events in the UK and US.

- On occasion, open to working outside normal office hours and undertaking international travel.
- A valid driving licence enabling business travel related to events.
