Cambridge Consultants undertakes over 300 technology, design and consulting projects every year.
You will have the opportunity to work across the broad range of markets, from Consumer Devices to Industrial Systems, Aerospace, Telecoms and Defence and National Security.

Your responsibilities
With lots of support and guidance from your peers, you will work as part of our technical team on client assignments in multi‑disciplinary projects for a wide range of markets.
You may work on one or more projects at a time, in a variety of different disciplines and roles.
You will have the chance to interact directly with clients at all phases of projects, from requirements capture and progress updates through delivery to final handover.
You will collaborate closely with software, RF, signal processing, mechanical and AI engineers.

Your tasks may include
- Design and implement systems for a variety of applications and products.
- Develop analogue and digital hardware, PCB layouts, and FPGA designs (Verilog/VHDL).
- Hands‑on testing and debugging in the lab.
- Opportunities to gain experience in embedded software (C/C++) and system‑level design.
Recent projects include
- Collaborating with LEGO® SMART Play.
- Developing bespoke communication systems for robotics platforms.
- Prototyping large airborne antennas for global 5G coverage.
- Creating secure satellite communication systems.
- Connecting the unconnected with affordable Digital Radio Mondiale technology.
- Candidate profile
- Recent Electronics graduates, with up to two years of industry experience, who want to work on real product developments across a range of industries and technologies.
- Willingness to face challenges and work with a range of different technologies across a variety of tasks.
Requirements
Excellent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related subject.
- Solid understanding of fundamental electronic theory and principles.
- Practical experience through university, work, or personal projects in one or more of the following:
- Analogue electronics (interfaces, RF, power)
- Digital electronics (processors, DSP, Verilog/VHDL)
- PCB design
- Enthusiasm for designing things and making them work.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
- Security Check level security clearance (see https://www. gov. uk/guidance/united-kingdom-security-vetting-applicant).
You must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government criteria.
