The Role: We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Quality / Technical Support Specialist to provide high-level technical and quality support to our customers, primarily within the food supplement and ingredient sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide quality and technical support to customers regarding food ingredients and supplements
- Interpret and respond to customer queries using available technical data
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain additional technical information where required
- Review and verify supplier information to ensure compliance with food safety, legal, and quality standards
- Support customer and supplier complaint investigations
- Complete customer portals, questionnaires, and documentation relating to products, supplier sites, and quality systems
- Interpret analytical test results and assess compliance with technical specifications
- Validate and maintain product technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, food safety standards, allergen controls, and relevant food legislation
- Deliver excellent customer service through timely and accurate communication
The requirements: To be successful in this role, you will have these essential skills and attributes:
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to manage multiple products and customer relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- IT literate with proficiency in key Microsoft packages
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
Desirable:
- Degree in Science or related discipline
- Experience working with large product portfolios
- Familiarity with quality management systems and supplier approval processes
- Knowledge of HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, food safety standards, allergens, and general food legislation
- Experience within food ingredients, supplements, or food manufacturing
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and laboratory test results
- Experience supporting complaint investigations
