We are seeking a proactive and organised Economy and Climate Support Officer to join our Inclusive Economy and Climate team. This is a vital role designed to champion and support the delivery of net-zero goals alongside sustainable and inclusive economic development within Cambridge. Working within the Economy and Place group, you will provide essential project co-ordination and administrative support for the team. You will play a key part in supporting policy and partnership development, as well as managing engagement and communications with both internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you will:

  • Support research and policy development through evidence gathering, analysis, and the drafting of reports and briefings.
  • Manage team data systems, ensuring high accuracy in records, spreadsheets, and CRM systems to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Provide project co-ordination for climate change and inclusive economic development workstreams.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for enquiries, ensuring requests are logged, allocated, and resolved within corporate standards.
  • Support managers with budget management, including raising purchase orders and reconciling monthly procurement card purchases.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to create and publish engaging content across social media, websites, and e-newsletters.
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of stakeholder events, consultations, and partnership meetings.

About You

We are looking for an organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities. You should be a team player with a "can-do" approach and a strong focus on customer service. The successful candidate will bring:

  • Proficiency in IT and systems, specifically with spreadsheets, databases, and CRM platforms.

Experience working within local government and previous work in economic development or climate change, and knowledge of the Cambridge economic and social landscape would be highly desirable. The successful candidate will be required to travel around the City and other locations so a Full UK Driving Licence would be desirable.

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £32,597- £36,363 per annum (City Pay Band 4), pro rata for part time.

Location: Mandela House, Cambridge / Agile Hybrid Working. This is flexible – primarily working in Cambridge on site, or at one of our offices, or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
