We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Economic Strategy and Partnership Manager to play a crucial role in delivering sustainable and inclusive economic growth for our unique city. Working within the Economy and Place group, you will collaborate with partners and develop strategies that promote sustainable growth, helping Cambridge remain an inclusive place to live, work, and visit. You will work across the Council, with businesses, and key economic partnerships to maximise economic, social, and environmental benefits for all residents. This high-impact role involves shaping policy, driving innovation, and managing vital relationships with stakeholders across public and private sectors to ensure an evidence-based, shared strategic focus on our economy.
In this role you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of an Inclusive Economy Plan for Cambridge.
- Manage key relationships with partners such as the Greater Cambridge Partnership, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and Innovate Cambridge.
- Co-ordinate the Council's proactive engagement with the business community, identifying opportunities to support local businesses to thrive and innovate.
- Support employment and skills initiatives to improve social mobility and access to employment in the city.
- Develop frameworks for measuring impact, outcomes, and social value across our inclusive economy and climate change agendas.
About You
We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong track record in economic development, regeneration, or inclusive growth. You will be comfortable working in a flexible and agile environment, ready to help us tackle the challenges facing a fast-growing city. The successful candidate will bring:
- Essential experience advising on and implementing policies and strategies for economic development, regeneration or inclusive growth, with proven success in stakeholder engagement and partnership working.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage projects, complex tasks and multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A relevant degree (e.g., economics, geography, public policy) or equivalent professional experience.
- A commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, championing wellbeing, diversity, and climate action.
Experience working within local government, line management, and an understanding of the local Cambridge economic landscape would be highly desirable. The successful candidate will be required to travel around the City and other locations so a Full UK Driving License would be desirable.

Salary: £41,771 - £47,181 per annum (City Pay Band 6), pro rata for part time.
