We are seeking a skilled and adaptable individual to carry out maintenance, repair and improvement works across public realm assets, including paths, fencing, benches, bins and play equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect public spaces such as play areas and public conveniences, record defects and carry out responsive repairs, including basic plumbing and carpentry.
- Respond to urgent issues including vandalism, damage and safety defects, ensuring risks to the public are addressed promptly.
- Support flood management activities such as monitoring water levels and operating sluice gates when required.
- Install signage and temporary barriers in line with legislation and safe systems of work, including NRSWA requirements where applicable.
- Use tools, plant and equipment safely across a variety of maintenance and construction-related tasks.
- Work flexibly across different locations and, as part of a rota, undertake regular out of hours and standby call-out duties.
Qualifications
- Experience in civil engineering, groundworks, building maintenance or multi-trade work.
- Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing or general construction.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Working Hours
- Full time: 37 hours per week.
- Working Pattern Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 14:30, Friday 06:00 – 12:15 (plus out of hours and standby rota).

- Salary £32,597 – £36,363 per annum (City Pay Band 4) pro rata for part time.
- Location Cowley Road Operational Hub.
