About the role: This role combines hands‑on support in the office with technical and administrative coordination for the Engineering and Product teams. You will act as the operational anchor for Engineering, providing reliable in‑office support to keep product samples, deliveries, and practical tasks running smoothly, whilst also maintaining documentation, coordinating follow‑ups from meetings, and supporting general team administration. This is a hybrid role requiring regular physical presence at our London HQ. This is not a purely administrative role; it requires hands‑on technical capability and confidence working directly with electronic products. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with electronic products, assembling units from component parts under guidance and carrying out basic testing and validation tasks. An engineering degree, equivalent technical qualification, or relevant hands‑on technical experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands‑On Office & Product Support
- Assemble product units from kits of parts under engineering guidance.
- Conduct basic functional checks and validation prior to shipment.
- Assist with product testing (with guidance) wherever necessary.
- Identify and escalate build or component issues to the Engineering team.
- Support sample preparation, firmware updates, and configuration tasks as required.
- Receive, unpack and log incoming product samples and deliveries.
- Prepare and package products for internal review or shipment.
- Coordinate shipments and ensure courier deadlines are met.
- Power‑on and basic‑check products under guidance from the Engineering team.
- Label, track and store samples accurately.
- Maintain clear records of product movement and location.
- Keep sample and storage areas organised and usable.
- Assist with setting up products for listening sessions or internal demonstrations.
- Step in at short notice to resolve practical on‑site tasks.
- Provide proactive administrative support to the Head of Engineering and wider Engineering team.
- Track actions and follow‑ups to ensure accountability and closure.
- Administer and maintain technical construction files to audit‑ready standards.
- Own and maintain Jira, Cognidox, and Confluence structure, hygiene and reporting.
- Ensure documentation is consistently structured, version‑controlled and accessible.
- Support compliance documentation and R&D tax claim preparation.
- Identify process improvements that enhance team efficiency and clarity.
Key Skills & Experience:
- An engineering degree, equivalent technical qualification or similar hands‑on prior experience.
- Demonstrable hands‑on experience working with electronic or mechanical products.
- Soldering expertise would be beneficial.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and build instructions.
- Confident handling and safe assembly of electronic kits.
- Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic about music, sound or hi‑fi components.
- Highly process‑driven and comfortable creating structure.
- Comfortable balancing desk‑based coordination with practical, hands‑on tasks.
- Reliable and able to attend the London office as required.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Pragmatic, service‑oriented mindset with good judgement.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.
- Physically able to lift and move product boxes safely.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence or similar systems (desirable).
- Experienced in the use of and experimentation with A.I. as a copilot, or at least genuinely receptive and excited to experiment with AI design tools and integrate them into your workflow.
Personal Profile: You are organised, dependable and calm under pressure. You take pride in accuracy and follow‑through. You enjoy enabling others to perform at their best and are comfortable moving between structured desk‑based work and practical on‑site support. You notice when something needs doing and take ownership of resolving it.
Location – Hybrid (UK/London Based): This role is based at our London HQ with regular on‑site presence required. The successful candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance of London Bridge.
