We are looking for a Strategic Account Manager to maximise long-term customer value across our most important accounts. You will own senior customer relationships end-to-end, acting as the primary interface between Cambridge Aerospace and the customer. This is a critical role, responsible for driving account growth, ensuring successful delivery alignment, and building enduring partnerships that support long-term revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop relationships across key accounts, from operational users to senior leadership.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and escalation for all account activity.
  • Drive account growth through identifying and executing upsell and expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain deep understanding of customer priorities, requirements, and operating context.
  • Align internal teams (Growth, Product, Engineering, Operations) to deliver against customer needs.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are aligned with customer expectations and programme objectives.
  • Shape account strategy, including long-term engagement plans and revenue growth pathways.
  • Support capture and bid activity within accounts, ensuring continuity and coherence.
  • Represent Cambridge Aerospace in senior customer engagements, briefings, and reviews.
  • Identify risks within accounts and drive proactive mitigation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience managing strategic accounts in defence, aerospace, or similarly complex environments.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgement with a track record of growing accounts over time.
  • Ability to operate credibly across tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage technical users, senior leaders, and policymakers.
  • Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver against customer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of complex programme delivery environments.
  • High ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes, not just activity.

Preferred

  • Experience working with government or defence customers.
  • Experience managing large, multi‑year programmes or accounts.
  • Background in military, government, or closely aligned environments.
  • Experience supporting or leading bid and capture activity within accounts.
  • Exposure to both operational end‑users and senior decision‑makers.
  • Track record of delivering sustained revenue growth within key accounts.
