We are looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to plan and deliver integration, verification and validation activities for advanced aerospace and defence systems. The role will focus on bringing together hardware, software and sub-systems into coherent solutions, developing robust test approaches and generating the evidence required to demonstrate performance, compliance and readiness for demonstration or deployment.
Responsibilities
- Develop integration, verification and validation strategies aligned to system requirements, architecture and programme milestones.
- Author and maintain test plans, procedures, specifications and reports for laboratory, rig, ground and flight activities.
- Support the integration of sub-systems, identifying, investigating and resolving technical issues and interface problems.
- Execute or oversee verification and validation activities, ensuring results are captured and linked to requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support trials and demonstrations, including planning, readiness reviews, execution support and post-activity reporting.
- Work closely with design, safety, requirements and project teams to ensure integration and test activities are practical, efficient and well controlled.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of integration and test processes, tools and evidence management approaches.
Requirements
- Experience in systems integration, verification, validation or test within complex engineering programmes.
- Strong understanding of requirements-based test approaches and structured evidence generation.
- Ability to produce clear test documentation and to work methodically through technical problems.
- Experience supporting trials, demonstrations or system acceptance activities, particularly of airborne systems, would be beneficial.
- Awareness of safety-critical development and regulated engineering environments.
- Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- Experience in fast-paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times.
- Experience in delivery of airborne systems within the defence industry would be highly advantageous.
