We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of complex aerospace and defence systems from concept to delivery. This opportunity spans multidisciplinary engineering activities, and we are seeking applicants who can bring one or more key systems engineering skill sets.
Responsibilities
- Defines, develops, and maintains system architectures, interfaces, and functional allocations for new and evolving products.
- Capture, analyse and manage requirements, ensuring traceability from user need through to design, verification and acceptance evidence.
- Perform operational and performance analysis to quantify system behaviour, assess trade-offs, and support the development of new capabilities.
- Apply systems engineering processes and methods across the lifecycle, including model-based approaches where appropriate.
- Support or lead safety, certification, verification, and validation activities.
- Work closely with software, hardware, mechanical, RF, test, and programme teams to ensure coherent system development and integration.
- Contribute to trials, demonstrations, and technical reviews, with responsibilities shaped by the individual role focus and programme needs.
Requirements
- Strong capability in one or more relevant systems engineering skill areas: System architecture definition and ownership, Requirements capture and management, Operational analysis, Application of systems engineering principles, including MBSE, Safety and certification in aerospace & defence, Test, validation and verification, Trials and demonstrations support.
- Ability to apply structured engineering thinking and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
- Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle delivery, with the breadth to contribute beyond a single specialism where required.
- Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in fast-paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times.
- Defence or aerospace industry experience.
