As a Supply Chain Planner, you will play a key role in building and scaling the planning function within a fast-growing, highly regulated defence environment. You will take ownership of supply planning, material availability, and system-driven planning processes, ensuring production is supported with the right materials at the right time. Working closely with procurement, manufacturing, and engineering teams, you will manage planning systems, maintain data integrity, and introduce scalable planning logic – balancing startup agility with the rigour required in a security-conscious, export-controlled setting.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end supply planning activity across production and development, ensuring material availability supports build schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Operate and optimise advanced planning systems (APS), managing supply/demand balancing, planning parameters, and scenario modelling.
  • Maintain and continuously improve planning master data (lead times, safety stock, order policies, sourcing rules), ensuring accuracy and system trust.
  • Define and manage planning rules and logic that underpin MRP/APS outputs, adapting to changing production and engineering requirements.
  • Work closely with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing to align supply plans with technical changes, NPI activity, and production constraints.
  • Identify supply risks early (capacity, lead time, single-source exposure) and drive mitigation actions to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Support the structuring of supply chain data and processes to enable scalable, system-driven planning rather than manual intervention.
  • Operate effectively within a security-conscious environment, ensuring appropriate handling, segregation, and access control of sensitive programmes, suppliers, and materials.

Requirements

  • Experience in Supply Chain, Production, or Materials Planning within complex manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/APS, including demand/supply balancing, planning horizons, and constraint-based planning.
  • Experience managing and improving planning master data (lead times, safety stock, planning policies, sourcing rules).
  • Ability to develop, challenge, and optimise planning logic, processes, and system rules.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, scaling organisations with evolving priorities.
  • Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments, handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with engineering, procurement, and production teams.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience implementing or scaling APS/MRP systems in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Exposure to defence, aerospace, or other regulated industries with export-controlled supply chains.
  • Experience supporting NPI/MPI environments where planning needs to adapt to rapid engineering change.
  • Strong hands-on experience with APS tools.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and stock options.
  • Private Medical & Dental.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
