As a Rust expert, you will be responsible for developing software across a range of platforms and applications, from flight control systems to advanced radar processing. While much of this work sits at the embedded layer, we do not require applicants to have a traditional embedded engineering background. We are extremely interested in strong Rust developers who are keen to learn embedded systems and transition their expertise into this domain.
Responsibilities
- Identify and define the architecture of embedded software in conjunction with the wider engineering team
- Scope and expand our CI and automated testing and release infrastructure
- Build high-performance, deterministic and well-tested embedded systems with a view to accreditation
- Definition of interfaces between software elements (APIs) and over communications interfaces (protocols)
Requirements
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork capabilities
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in fast-paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times
- Experience with bare-metal, RTOS (i.e., NuttX, ThreadX, RTIC, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, INTEGRITY), and embedded Linux
- Experience with STM32, Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+, etc.
- Experience with flight controllers
- Experience developing for safety-critical systems, i.e., avionics, medical or automotive
