As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design and deliver the hardware that brings our air defence systems to life. Working from requirements and interfaces through detailed design, integration and test, you will develop the mechanical systems that turn concepts into deployable products. Collaborating closely with engineering teams across the company, your work will take critical hardware from early prototypes into production, supporting systems as they are proven, validated and prepared for real‑world operation.
Responsibilities
- Research and work with other function groups to define requirements for mechanical systems within a product
- Work from requirements to create concepts for parts, mechanisms and mechanical systems
- Take ownership and responsibility for engineering delivery for parts and systems within a product
- Carry out calculations, simulations and analyses to support design decisions
Requirements
- Demonstrable hands‑on experience in complex mechanical systems, from simulations to testing of prototype components
- BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Excellent practical, communication and teamwork capabilities
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in fast‑paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times
- Experience in testing of mechanical systems from component to full integration
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems
- Applying systems‑level thinking to inform risk management and failure mode analysis
