The Cambrian News is seeking a multimedia reporter with genuine enthusiasm for journalism and a passion for innovative storytelling across multiple platforms. We are looking for an ambitious, versatile reporter who is comfortable on camera, skilled at writing breaking news blogs, and equally at home in digital or print environments.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be NCTJ-trained or working towards reaching these qualifications.
  • Experience & Skills: You should be highly proactive, capable of managing a varied and demanding news diary, and possess the ability to show initiative in uncovering exclusive stories.
  • Language: A knowledge of mid-Wales is highly desirable. The ability to speak Welsh is an asset but is not a requirement for the role.
  • Travel: This role requires significant knowledge and travel across our coverage area, which includes Gwynedd, Ceredigion, Powys, and Carmarthenshire. Therefore, a full driving license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.

Expectation: You will thrive in covering a large, busy patch, delivering a mix of news and features that will grow our online audience and contribute to a first-class digital and print portfolio.
