Are you looking to launch your career in the energy industry? Triton Power’s Deeside Power Station is offering an exciting Electrical Maintenance apprenticeship opportunity designed for motivated, enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and develop valuable skills in a dynamic working environment.

Your responsibilities

  • The Apprenticeship Programme is an exciting opportunity for those interested in a career in the energy industry to gain hands-on industry work experience, achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship qualification in electrical engineering, and to earn while you learn.
  • Working alongside skilled professionals, you will gain insights into station operations, maintenance, and engineering, with the opportunity to specialise in electrical engineering.

Training and qualifications

  • You will be following the Welsh Engineering Manufacturing Level 3 apprenticeship standard with our training partner Coleg Cambria at the Deeside campus.
  • At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have qualifications including: Level 2 NVQ in engineering, BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and an NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.

Employment terms

  • Your employment will be governed by a fixed term contract with a duration of four years.
  • You may have the opportunity to complete your apprenticeship prior to the conclusion of this term or progress onto further qualifications, subject to your progress.
  • This will be subject to your qualifications at the commencement of employment.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting plant maintenance activities
  • Performing preventative and routine maintenance
  • Fault diagnosis on plant and equipment
  • Work in accordance to site procedures and drawings
  • Adhere to site safe system of work; RAMS
  • Assist work planning using computerised maintenance management systems
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained onsite

Your profile

  • 5 or more GCSEs at A-C or Grade 4 or above, including Maths, English, and Science
  • Keen interest in engineering, technology, or the energy sector
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
