Overview MPH are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Apprentice Scheme as an Apprentice Site Joiner, working on our projects and maintenance works throughout the Northwest of England and North Wales. The role involves working on various projects around the local area with a team of multi‑skilled and time‑served joiners. Types of work you will be undertaking are refurbishment work and new builds ranging from £100,000 to £5 million. Stud work, roofing, skirting, ceiling building, insulation, floor laying and doors, all first and second fix joinery ensuring all installations adhere to Health & Safety protocols.
You will be expected to have a basic understanding of the roles and good tool skills with the ability to work closely as part of a team or on your own initiative following instructions. You will be working to specific deadlines, with overtime required on occasion. MPH Head Office is based in Mold, however, please note you will be covering the North/Mid Wales & Northwest areas. A competitive remuneration package will be offered, which will progress as you develop with the company.
In this role, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to become a proficient Joiner and gain a full Level 3 NVJ in Carpentry & Joinery. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about joinery and are eager to learn and develop their skills.
Who we are looking for: The role will require an ability and enjoyment of working using your hands, with various tools and materials, with a practical approach to problem solving. Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and follow instructions. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation is desirable. Some knowledge of construction and site working practices would be advantageous, although not essential. A candidate with the ability to work well within a team environment and with staff at all levels. A candidate with a self‑driven attitude, with the ability to use their initiative for everyday tasks.
Apprenticeship & Training: The candidate will have a willingness to work towards an Apprenticeship Programme in Carpentry and Joinery. They will be regularly supported by MPH and will be expected to complete their qualification in the time specified – time will be allocated specifically for the NVQ and study.
