Role Purpose: To research, obtain, evaluate and report on a wide range of information obtained for the purpose of Police Vetting and National Security Vetting in accordance with the Vetting Code of Practice and APP. An effective regime is a high-risk area of North Wales Police business which relies on the accurate and comprehensive collation of intelligence and other police and non-police information obtained from local and national systems.

To prepare detailed comprehensive risk assessed vetting reports, with recommendations, for the Force Vetting Manager so that any challenges to decisions can be supported with full documentary evidence.

You will be required to demonstrate in your application the minimum requirement for the role:

  • HNC or equivalent level of qualification or possess an equivalent amount of relevant proven experience.
  • Competent in the use of IT including Windows, Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Acrobat or equivalent.
  • Self‑motivated with good organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • High level of communication skills both written and verbal, liaising with other departments within North Wales Police or other police forces and agencies where appropriate.
  • Proven ability to enter and gather information from a range of sources using appropriate computer systems and to retrieve and present the information in a suitable comprehensive format.
  • Highest ethical and professional standards in respect of confidentiality and access to sensitive information.
