2Agriculture are offering an exciting opportunity for one apprentice to undertake up to a 4-year Engineering Modern Apprenticeship through Cambria College starting in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a fully proficient multi-skilled Technician and gain on the job knowledge and experience of all operational areas within a successful manufacturing business. 2Agriculture is a rapidly growing business within the poultry sector and is a leading provider of poultry feed within the UK. Candidates will finish their apprenticeship as a multi-skilled Technician with systems process, mechanical and electrical disciplines. In addition, they will have gained experience of key operational areas within the business such as hygiene, quality control, health and safety and production.
This will demonstrate how each area has a key role in maintaining and developing our feed mill to the highest standards to contribute to the overall success of the business.
Key Responsibilities- You will be supported to attend college on a day release basis in order to achieve a Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture followed by a Higher Apprenticeship where you will achieve an HNC.
- During year 1 and 2 the candidate will attend college one day per week, to work towards their academic qualification (BTEC or HNC) this will wholly depend on what qualification they already hold.
- When at work during year 1, the candidate will work towards achieving their NVQ2 in Performing Engineering operations.
- Then during year 2 and 3 they will move on to their trade specific NVQ3 in Engineering Maintenance.
- When the candidate has achieved a Btech Level 3, NVQ2 and NVQ3 they will receive their Technical Level Modern Apprenticeship papers in Engineering Maintenance.
- The candidate will be based at our Llay Mill in Wrexham.
- Implement all Health and Safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Carry out the production of high-quality poultry feed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Support the engineering team to carry out all aspects of plant maintenance and ensure all relevant maintenance records are accurately recorded.
- Liaise with the mill production team to address breakdowns, dealing promptly with any issues.
- Liaise with the Hygiene team to ensure the working environment is safe and clean to prevent a negative impact on quality standards.
- 5 GCSE Grades A*- C which include English, Maths and Science or equivalent National 4 level in Maths, Science and English.
- Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations NVQ (Desirable).
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
