This role is based in Edinburgh and supports the technical team in maintaining equipment, organization, sample handling and quality framework.
As a Laboratory Technician at Cambrex Edinburgh, you will support the development and testing of pharmaceutical materials for a global client base. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance and calibration, laboratory organization, sample delivery and analysis, and working within a quality framework.
Responsibilities:- Perform daily, monthly and ad-hoc calibration of laboratory equipment in line with schedules
- Conduct routine maintenance of non-specialist laboratory equipment
- Manage receipt, control, storage and disposal of laboratory materials and client samples
- Transport samples to external analysis vendor in local area
- Practical experience in a chemistry laboratory setting (essential)
- Equipment calibration and maintenance e.g., TG/DSC, XRPD, DVS, pH meter, analytical balances, HPLC (desirable)
- Full clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Ability to work safely in a lab environment, adhering to local SHE policies (essential)
- Experience working independently and within a team (essential)
- Experience with ISO9001 quality standards (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques
- Strong organisational planning to manage workload
- Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and priorities
- Minimum HND or degree in a relevant scientific field (general chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering) or equivalent experience in a similar role (essential)
