Overview
Cambrex is building a talent pipeline for Crystallisation / Solid State Scientist roles in Edinburgh, Scotland. This posting is for future opportunities; on-site in Edinburgh. If you submit your resume, you will be contacted when a suitable role arises.
Responsibilities
- The Crystallisation Scientist is responsible for organizing and performing crystallisation process development projects, including characterisation of samples provided by clients.
- Manage a demanding workload while maintaining high standards and prioritising multiple client deliverables.
- Competent in the science of process and scale-up crystallisation, with experience in cooling crystallisation and anti-solvent crystallisation at gram and kilogram scales.
- Experienced in using controlled lab reactors (CLRs) with heater/chiller units and overhead stirrers to manipulate crystallisation systems to optimise purities, yields, and particle size distributions, or other client-specific objectives.
- A working knowledge of PAT technologies (e.g., Blaze metric, FBRM, Raman) to understand and characterise crystallisation systems and MSZW for optimisation and technology transfer.
- Competent in a wide range of analyses including DVS, XRPD, TG/DTA, DSC, and related spectroscopic and wet-chemistry methods.

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
- Masters or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience preferred.
- Familiar with working within ISO 9001 and/or cGMP quality standards.
- Experience working independently and within a team.
