The Art department at Cambourne Village College seeks a dedicated teacher to design and deliver engaging art and photography lessons across KS3‑KS4, supporting pupil progress and fostering creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons in Art and Photography, following the Eduqas (WJEC) GCSE specification.
  • Develop and manage KS3 and KS4 schemes, incorporating drawing, painting, collagraph, relief printing, photography, 3D modelling, ceramics, animation, and digital media.
  • Provide evidence collection, assessment and reflective professional practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department and Trust‑wide subject networks.
  • Participate in curriculum extension days, open‑door art clubs and intensive skills‑based workshops.
  • Use the department’s facilities, including etching presses, kiln, studio photographic equipment, iPads and Photoshop software.

Qualifications

  • Significant teaching experience in at least two school settings.
  • Secure subject knowledge in Art and Design, with experience in fine art, digital media, textiles or photography.
  • High level of drawing skill and experience working with a variety of materials.
  • Evidence of impact on pupil progress and ability to assess learner outcomes.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and safeguarding skills.
  • Willingness to embrace innovative teaching approaches, flexible methodology and commitment to pastoral care.
  • Portfolio of own artwork and examples of pupils’ work from previous or current projects.
