Overview
Senior adviser, organisational lead, ensuring professionalism, transparency and confidence. Works closely with councillors, staff, partners and residents to keep services running smoothly, support good decision‑making and help the Council respond to the needs of a growing, diverse community.
Responsibilities
- Advises councillors on governance and policy matters.
- Supports staff on service delivery and operational management.
- Collaborates with partners on local infrastructure projects and community facilities.
- Shapes and leads council initiatives to improve public spaces and community services.
- Ensures adherence to good governance, sound financial awareness, strong relationships, and clear communication.
- Takes a leading role in maintaining professionalism, transparency and confidence across the council.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a governance‑led or regulated environment.
- Proven track record of supporting committees or boards, providing clear, well‑reasoned advice.
- Strong management skills, ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Ability to work with partners across the public, voluntary or community sectors.
- Understanding of good governance, sound financial awareness, strong relationships, clear communication.
- Certificate in Local Council Administration or Certificate of Higher Education in Community Governance desirable; support will be provided if not yet achieved.
