Job Title - Senior Cash & Reporting Assistant

Job Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the Cash & Reporting function by producing accurate cash forecasts, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis. The role is responsible for delivering key financial information to stakeholders, maintaining robust financial controls, supporting cash management activities, and providing operational support to the wider Cash & Reporting team.
Accountabilities
- Prepare and maintain the Group Cash Forecast.
- Process and monitor debt write-offs in accordance with company policies.
- Produce KPI reporting.
- Prepare incoming cash reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring cash received agrees to cash posted by value and cost centre.
- Produce VAT reporting relating to incoming payments.
- Prepare Trade Debtors reporting and Billing reports.
- Monitor and report on net, gross and unallocated credit balances.
- Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Administer and maintain fund source records and reporting.
- Produce and distribute group statement runs (non-RBS accounts).
- Review and report on suspense account balances.
- Provide holiday cover and support for Cash & Reporting Assistants.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required by Finance management.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies.
- Provide day-to-day support, coaching and guidance to Cash & Reporting Assistants, acting as a first point of escalation for complex queries and assisting with training and development of team members.
Personal Characteristics
- Recent Accounts Receivable or Finance experience desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, lookups and financial reporting, with the ability to manipulate and interpret large volumes of data accurately)
- Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well organised with effective time management skills.

Experience and Skills Required
Essential
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience within an Accounts Receivable, Cash Management or Finance environment, with a strong understanding of cash allocation, reconciliations and financial reporting. They will be confident working with large volumes of data, using Excel to analyse information and produce accurate reports. Experience of cash forecasting, KPI reporting, process improvement and supporting or guiding colleagues would be advantageous.
Desirable
Experience of cash forecasting, management reporting, VAT reporting and process improvement. Advanced Excel skills, experience supporting junior colleagues, and an AAT qualification (or studying towards one) would be advantageous.
