About the Service – Ashring House
Ashring is a small 6 bedded house located in the village of Ringmer. It hosts 6 service users with physical and learning disabilities. In-house activities include arts and crafts, weekly walks to the local dementia club in Ringmer, and days out using public transport. Staff work closely with clients, supporting them into the community and encouraging participation in community life. Communication is vital, and staff support clients to live an everyday life, being as independent as possible, and providing choice and respect for dignity at all times.
The Role
- Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
- Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
- Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing.
- Support activities, appointments and community access.
- Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
- Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep ins.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure.
- Confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion to work with vulnerable adults.
- Commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
- Reliable, flexible and competent IT and written skills.
