We are looking for a Full Time Learning Support Assistant to provide support to our Young People for 35 hours per week, Term Time Only. You will be supporting our young people to develop by providing physical and emotional support. The role is about working as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first. Ultimately you will be a Role Model to our Students.
To primarily work in the education area providing guidance, support and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings including classroom, education, vocational and off-site activities. Important qualities of this role are having a knowledge of catering or the food industry, being a good role model and conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times whilst on duty or representing the company at outside events.
Cambian Pengwern College is a 52-week placement provision, has a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16-25 who have Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, including some challenging behaviours, to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. The Head of College and the dedicated team recognise this success and want to offer this opportunity to a wider range of young people and adults as part of the ongoing developments that are taking place across all areas of the college. The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches. This includes providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
