Every day at Cambian, you’re not just working – you’re shaping futures. As a Residential Support Worker based within the Manchester region, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued and supported. A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game or encouragement during a tough moment – these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why this work truly matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
  • Help with light housekeeping to create a warm, homely environment.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights, or creative projects.
  • Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.

Where You’ll Do It

We are a dual home based in North Manchester with easy transport links to Manchester City Centre, Middleton and Oldham. The large home comprises a porch area leading to a hallway, living room, dining room and conservatory. It has three bedrooms (two for the young people and one for staff on shift) located on the first floor, an office and a staff sleep room on the ground floor. The home is newly decorated and also has a pet tortoise cared for by the team and the young people. The home currently has two residents who have lived in the property for over two years and are very settled. The team works together in an empathetic and caring way to support the young people in our care, helping them make the right choices and gain the tools to be integrated back into society effectively. Safeguarding is paramount; we provide a safe, nurturing and caring environment and facilitate family time, welcoming families into the home rather than treating them as outsiders.
