What You’ll Do
- Support each young person and be the advocate to encourage their normal development through providing a consistent caring adult role model.
- Support them through the challenges of independence.
- Be emotionally available to listen to young people’s views and feelings.
- Promote and build positive relationships in a nurturing environment.
- Must be IT literate, especially with Word and Outlook for Emails.
- Have fun and enjoy spending time with our young people.
- Plan and engage shared time within the home for the team and our young people.
- Create an environment that our young people deserve to be a part of.
- Creating opportunities for the young people to grow and thrive within the home.
Who Are You
- Genuinely care and want to make a difference.
- Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager - focused on achieving outcomes for others.
- Take pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.
- Comfortable using an electronic care recording system daily to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately.
- Previous experience is preferred or maybe you have cared for a friend or family member.
- Desire to work towards a related qualification and partake in ongoing training.
- Must be a team player.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
- Ability to cover day shifts with overnight sleep-ins at the service.
What does our rota look like?
Each shift is 8am to 11pm – Sleep ins are 11pm to 8am. 3 week rolling rota. (One day on, Two days off)
- Week 1: 30 hrs = 2 days working & 2 sleeps.
- Week 2: 30 hrs = 2 days working & 2 sleeps.
- Week 3: 45 hrs = 3 days working & 3 sleeps.
