Rate: £14.03 per hour
Location: Mersham, Ashford
Contract: Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our service in Mersham, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. Whether you’re new to care or experienced, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding, long‑term career – you can truly make a difference!
About the Service – Court Lodge
Court Lodge is a small care home which provides care and support for up to 6 people with learning disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
The service is a detached bungalow in a quiet residential area close to local amenities with onsite parking. The service users are aged between 32 – 75 years old and enjoy baking, cricket, shopping and the cinema.
The Role
You will:
- Deliver person‑centred support in line with individual support plans
- Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
- Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing
- Support activities, appointments and community access
- Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
- Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep‑ins
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated senior professional who leads with compassion, patience, and respect. You will bring a positive, resilient approach and be confident supporting both individuals and colleagues. Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team are essential. Reliability, flexibility and competent IT and written skills are also important to this role.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.
- Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure.
- Confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion to work with vulnerable adults.
- Commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
