About Cambi

Cambi is a world-leading provider of sustainable technology solutions that enable cities to turn wastewater sludge into valuable resources. We are a medium-size, Norway-based multinational company listed in Oslo on Euronext Growth, with offices in several countries. Our core expertise lies in designing, testing, manufacturing, installing, and operating industrial process installations, used mainly for treating sewage sludge before or after anaerobic digestion in wastewater treatment plants. The technology, known as thermal hydrolysis, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and produces renewable energy, organic fertilizers, and various soil products while destroying pathogens and other harmful substances.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Service Engineer to join our professional team maintaining Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis Plants (THPs) across the UK and Europe. This role offers the opportunity to work on sustainability-focused projects, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of cutting-edge sludge treatment technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative annual maintenance on Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis Plants (THPs) across the UK and Europe.
  • Work effectively within a team, supporting colleagues on-site and at Cambi’s main UK office in Congleton.
  • Manage stock control and order preparation at base when not travelling to sites.
  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times during on-site and off-site operations.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Proactive, positive attitude and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work in sometimes physically demanding environments within the sludge treatment industry.
  • Willing to travel and work away from home for several weeks a year.
  • Eager to learn new technologies.
  • In possession of basic IT skills, including the ability to use systems for stock control and order preparation (though this is not essential).
  • Strong communicators able to interact effectively with team members and site managers.

Requirements

  • Recent mechanical training or hands-on experience as a time-served fitter is highly desirable, but full training will be provided.
  • Experience working in remote locations or away from home is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of IT would be beneficial, particularly in using software for inventory management and order processing.
  • Welding, electrical or instrumentation experience is desirable though not essential.
  • Full clean driver’s licence is desirable though not essential.

At Cambi, we value people who share our commitment to the environment and the positive impact of the circular economy. Your personality should align with Cambi’s core philosophy, which centers around strong customer focus, delivering a high standard of quality in our solutions, products, and services, and always acting with integrity.

Why Join Cambi
