As a QA Lead at Camascope, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the quality of our products. You will be instrumental in transforming and elevating our QA processes, implementing best practices that embed quality throughout the organisation. Working as a key bridge between engineering, product, and stakeholders, you will ensure quality is a shared priority across teams. You will lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, define testing strategies, and champion automation efforts to enhance efficiency and testing coverage. As a key member of our engineering leadership, you will have the opportunity to influence QA processes at an organisational level and drive continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Champion QA best practices and drive continuous process improvement across the organisation, establishing standards that ensure testing aligns with both current and long‐term goals.
  • Act as the key liaison between QA, engineering, and product teams, fostering strong communication and collaboration to ensure quality is embedded at every stage of development.
  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to define quality metrics, test coverage requirements, and release readiness criteria throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and implement the overall QA strategy, including manual and automation testing approaches aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive the automation strategy by identifying high‐value test cases, selecting appropriate tools and frameworks, and overseeing the development of automation scripts.
  • Oversee the execution of functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing across our core products.
  • Establish and maintain test case frameworks, test plans, and documentation standards for both manual and automation testing.
  • Collaborate closely with the support team to prioritise and troubleshoot customer issues, ensuring clear and actionable feedback is provided to developers.
  • Own the defect triage process, working closely with developers and product managers to prioritise and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Lead the estimation and planning of testing timelines, managing team workload and priorities in line with the release schedule.
  • Ensure thorough regression testing for new releases, maintaining quality across all iterations.
  • Report on QA progress, risks, and quality metrics to senior leadership, providing visibility and actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior QA role.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvement and implementing QA best practices across an organisation.
  • Proven experience leading and developing QA teams, with strong mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and modern testing approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and implementing test automation strategies and frameworks.
  • Strong experience with web and mobile application testing, including cross‐platform testing.
  • Excellent problem‐solving skills and attention to detail, with a strategic focus on quality and usability.
  • Proficiency with defect tracking tools (such as JIRA) and test case management software.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Strong experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
