Responsibilities
- Choose the hosting stack and deployment approach, for example Docker on your preferred cloud provider, and own the infrastructure setup.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery so downtime risks are kept to an absolute minimum.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines and coding standards for the backend codebase.
- Collaborate with smart contract and frontend teams to ensure seamless integrations.
- Document your designs clearly and share knowledge with less senior engineers.
Qualifications
- Six or more years of backend development in production environments.
- Expertise in at least one of Python, TypeScript, or Rust and willingness to guide language choice for the project.
- Solid grasp of containerisation, orchestration, and cloud hosting concepts.
- Proven record of running services with strict uptime or latency targets, including monitoring and incident response.
- Practical experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and secure secret management.
- Ability to work independently and make architectural decisions in a flat team.
Nice to have
- Hands-on work with blockchain integrations, especially Solidity smart contracts.
- Past involvement in financial trading systems or other high-availability platforms.
- Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar monitoring stacks.
