Responsibilities

  • Choose the hosting stack and deployment approach, for example Docker on your preferred cloud provider, and own the infrastructure setup.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery so downtime risks are kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and coding standards for the backend codebase.
  • Collaborate with smart contract and frontend teams to ensure seamless integrations.
  • Document your designs clearly and share knowledge with less senior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of backend development in production environments.
  • Expertise in at least one of Python, TypeScript, or Rust and willingness to guide language choice for the project.
  • Solid grasp of containerisation, orchestration, and cloud hosting concepts.
  • Proven record of running services with strict uptime or latency targets, including monitoring and incident response.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and secure secret management.
  • Ability to work independently and make architectural decisions in a flat team.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on work with blockchain integrations, especially Solidity smart contracts.
  • Past involvement in financial trading systems or other high-availability platforms.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar monitoring stacks.
  • Contributions to open-source infrastructure or devops projects.
