About the role

The Support Worker – Laundry will support the delivery of a safe and clean laundry service for residents in alignment with appropriate standards. Calvary Ryde Retirement Community is a friendly, close-knit community and home to residents of many cultures and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, sort and distribute clothing and linen as per laundry instructions.
  • Ensure adequate stocks of clean linen, towels and laundry skip bags are available in the designated storage areas in the home.

About you

  • Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable).
  • Commercial laundry experience (desirable).
  • Experience in Aged Care (desirable).
