About the role
Located in Brighton-VIC. This position is Permanent Part-Time! We are looking for an enthusiastic Leisure & Activities Officer to join our friendly and close-knit team at Calvary Elanora! The Leisure & Activities Officer is part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework supporting the resident to live their best life.
Your main duties will include:
- To respect every resident's individual character, personality and right to independence to continue an enjoyable, healthy and productive lifestyle.
- To develop formal and informal activity programs designed to improve and maintain the quality of life of residents.
- To provide social and recreational programs that meet the needs of the residents.
About you
- Certificate IV Leisure & Lifestyle or other relevant qualification.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.
- Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and programmes for frail people with cognitive impairment and other disabilities.
- Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes to meet legislative, funding and quality improvement requirements.
- Ability to work and communicate with people of all ages and cognitive ability and to obtain their trust and co-operation.
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.
