About Us
Caltech Lifts is a family-run lift engineering business with nearly 50 years of experience. Operating from our head office in Dundee and our regional office in North Lanarkshire, we cover projects and maintenance across Scotland.
Due to continued growth and investment in our business, we are looking to expand our engineering team and are recruiting for both Service Engineers and Installation Engineers .

The Role
We are looking for experienced Lift Engineers to join our team across a range of locations including the Central Belt, Perthshire, Fife, Angus, Dundee, and Aberdeen .
We welcome applications from both:
Service / Repair Engineers
Installation / Modernisation Engineers
Key Responsibilities:
Service Engineer
Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs efficiently
Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Work closely with the office team to deliver excellent customer service
Participate in our on-call rota (typically 1 in 5 weekdays, 1 in 7 weekends - with flexibility available)
Installation Engineer
Install passenger lifts (including Raloe and MP systems - training provided)
Install enclosed platform lifts (hydraulic and traction)
Carry out lift modernisations and upgrades
Undertake major repairs (e.g. re-ropes, sheave replacements)
Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
Skills & Experience
NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) preferred
Experience in lift servicing, repair, or installation (hydraulic and traction)
_or_ strong mechanical/electrical background in a related field
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and control systems
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Good communication and customer-facing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required

Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and ability)
Β£1,000 joining bonus for qualified and experienced lift engineers
Overtime paid at 1.5x (including door-to-door travel when on call)
