We're looking for a proactive and analytical Sustainability Intern to join our team and support the delivery of our sustainability strategy across the business. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their sustainability career to gain hands-on experience in carbon reporting, sustainability performance management, colleague engagement, and environmental initiatives. You'll work closely with experienced sustainability professionals, develop valuable technical expertise, and play a key role in helping us achieve our sustainability goals.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the implementation and embedding of Calor's sustainability strategy across the business.
- Leading the coordination of carbon reporting activities and becoming the subject matter expert for Gravity, our carbon reporting platform.
- Monitoring sustainability performance data, identifying trends, and helping to develop actions that reduce carbon emissions.
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of sustainability reporting and KPIs across the business.
- Working with internal stakeholders and the wider SHV Energy sustainability community to support system improvements and best practice sharing.
- Assisting with voluntary sustainability disclosures and external assessments, including EcoVadis submissions.
- Supporting the creation of engaging sustainability communications for colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinating recycling, waste management, and renewable energy activities in partnership with Procurement and operational teams.
- Acting as a key contact for colleague engagement initiatives, community partnerships, and charitable activities.
- Providing support and cover for the Sustainability Manager when required.

Essential Requirements
- Educated to degree level.
- A strong interest in sustainability, climate change, and environmental issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful insights.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
Desirable
- A degree or additional qualifications related to Sustainability, Environmental Management, Climate Change, ESG, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with data analysis, reporting, or sustainability projects.
- Knowledge of carbon reporting, environmental reporting, or sustainability frameworks.
