This is a rare opportunity to work nationally, influencing critical engineering decisions in a high-hazard, highly regulated environment while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across Operations, Projects and Engineering.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will act as a technical authority and trusted advisor, supporting and facilitating engineering and capital projects across multiple Calor sites throughout the UK. You will regularly visit operational locations, helping ensure engineering solutions are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. You’ll work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, contributing your expertise to design reviews, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives in some of the most safety-critical areas of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise across national sites and projects

  • Engage with site teams and stakeholders to understand operational challenges and develop solutions
  • Work within high-hazard environments, ensuring engineering decisions meet regulatory and safety standards
  • Contribute to hazard studies and risk assessments (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA, SWIFT)
  • Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and technical authority
  • Help develop and maintain engineering standards and best practice across the business

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a collaborative team player who enjoys working with people as much as solving technical challenges.

Essential:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to travel nationally to Calor sites across the UK
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Experience in a hazardous or regulated industrial environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Understanding of engineering projects and how to support and facilitate them within a business

Desirable:

Why Join Calor?

  • National role with exposure to diverse engineering challenges
  • Opportunity to influence safety and engineering standards across the UK
  • Work in a business where safety comes first, always
  • Strong support for professional development and chartership
  • Collaborative culture where your voice and expertise matter

  • Company and performance related bonus
  • Private medical insurance
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
