Assistant Maintenance Technician – Stoney Stanton
The Production and Engineering team at Calor Gas are looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Assistant Maintenance Technician
To support the maintenance department in the upkeep of the plant and ensure safe completion of breakdown and preventative maintenance at the production site and any break bulk sites as required
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead a safety first operation and drive towards an incident free workplace
- Complete low technical maintenance activity such as pipework/structural painting, fixtures/fittings and cleaning conveyor trays
- Maintain a clean and tidy site – including cleaning down production buildings and yard area
- Maintain the site ground and grassy areas
- Complete site security fencing workaround’s
- Raise Hazard spots and address safety issues whenever discovered
- Empty site bins, and maintain skips
- Induct and accompany visitors / contractors
- Erect scaffolding and control MEWPs
- Be a firewatcher for hot work activity around the site
- General site labourer
- Work additional hours as required (including weekends) to support with plant
- Stand in for plant operatives during personnel shortages
- Develop mechanical competencies to develop into future maintenance technicians.
- Deal with problems as they occur and contribute to driving continuous improvement across activities
As such we would like you to:
- High concern for safety in operations
- Practical maintenance experience / trade skills
- Experience of working on a major industrial site, preferably high hazardous / COMAH sites
- IPAF and PASMA trained
- Firewatcher trained
- Be able to follow and communicate work instructions / procedures
- Well organised
- Clear communicator
