As the leading player in the UK LPG market, Calor offers varied and exciting employment opportunities. The Customer Engineering team at Calor Gas is looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Gas Engineer providing engineering services and emergency response to Calor customers in the area.

Calor Gas is the UK's leading LPG supplier, offering a range of off-grid energy options for heating, cooking, and other needs to homes and businesses, including sectors such as agriculture, transport, and manufacturing. We are ideally looking for a smart meter/gas meter installer who would like to retrain to service and maintain Calor gas tanks, pipework, and equipment. Full training will be given.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining Calor’s bulk tanks and assets at customer sites.
  • Travel (van and fuel provided) to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base.
  • Participation in a standby rota to respond to gas emergencies out of normal working hours.

As such we would like you to have/be:

  • ACS Gas Qualified.
  • Experience in dealing with customers and providing excellent customer care.
  • Any relevant gas engineering experience would be considered useful, and an understanding of LPG and the installation and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks and cylinders would be a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, including Health and Safety awareness.
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions.
  • A Full Manual UK driving licence is essential.

As part of our field-based team, you will take part in Calor’s training programme and build the skills and knowledge of installation and maintenance work needed to provide the best service possible to our customers. This will include supporting our 24/7 emergency response service.

Key Behaviours we look for in a Calor Gas LPG Engineer:

  • Have a safety-first mindset.
  • Be curious, ask questions, and be able to learn and absorb key knowledge required.
  • Be flexible in your approach to work.
  • Be willing to travel.
  • Communicate clearly.
  • Have excellent customer service skills, be patient, and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Be a team player and work well with others.
  • Listen well and quickly build rapport.
  • Seek and be open to feedback and share information with others.
  • Have good organisational skills.
  • Monitor quality and reject sub-standard work.

Opportunities to progress, develop, and be recognised for your achievements are part of our daily life. Together with your commitment, drive, and personal performance, we believe you can bring out the best in yourself at Calor.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK and hold a full driving licence valid for driving in the UK. You must also be medically fit to drive.
