As the lead supplier in the UK LPG market, Calor has continued to develop and diversify, ensuring that our service offering is expansive, progressive and relevant to our customers. It is our people that enable us to do that, which is why they are the heart of our business.

Calor are looking for a flexible and motivated Gas Service Engineer to join our field-based Assets team, providing engineering services and emergency response to Calor customers in the area. Predominately working outdoors, key responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining Calor’s bulk tanks and assets (full training given) at customer sites
  • Participation in travel (van and fuel provided) in order to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base

This role requires participation in a Standby Rota to respond to gas emergencies out of normal working hours and can involve extensive travel in order to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base. Therefore, you will need to have a flexible, positive and adaptable approach.

Please note this vacancy does NOT involve servicing or working on gas appliances.

This is a great opportunity for a newly qualified gas engineer with minimal experience, to join the market leading LPG supplier and continue to develop and be trained as an LPG engineer. You will need excellent problem solving and communication skills, be confident working on your own initiative on customer sites, and enjoy working mainly outdoors. A willingness to support other team members and colleagues is expected. You in turn will be supported through an ongoing commitment to develop your own skills, understanding and expertise as an LPG specialist.

We are looking for:

  • Someone who has recently retrained as a gas engineer with a minimum of Core Gas Safety (CCN1)
  • Previous 'hands on' gas industry experience is essential and customer care experience.
  • Any relevant gas engineering experience would be considered useful and an understanding of LPG and the installation and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks and cylinders would be a distinct advantage.
  • A full UK driving license is also essential.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, including Health and Safety awareness.
  • Appreciate the importance of and be able to follow procedures and instructions.

Calor is a company where performance is rewarded and backed up by training and career development opportunities. We value innovation and ideas, so if you have the skills and energy, then join us and you'll quickly find that the rewards and progression opportunities are unrivalled.

We look for people who are open minded, embrace new ways of working, step out of their comfort zone, seek out new opportunities and look to continuously learn. Opportunities to progress, to develop and to be recognised for your achievements are part of our daily life, and we want to share that with you! Together with your commitment, drive and personal performance, we believe you can bring out the best in yourself at Calor.

If you are successful in being offered this role, you will be required to carry out pre-employment checks including: 5-year address history, 3-year employment history, financial check, criminal record check, and driving license verification and you must be medically fit to work.

To be considered for the above opportunity you must be eligible to live and work in the UK and hold a full driving license that is valid for you to drive in the UK.

We are a responsible business where safety is our number one priority. As such, during any visit to, or employment with Calor, you may be randomly selected to undergo a drugs and alcohol test. Such results, which would be shared with you, may be taken into consideration in relation to any employment application or continued employment.
