We’re now expanding our Operations team and are looking for an ambitious Maintenance Technician to join our site in Canvey Island.
The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Canvey Island site. You will focus on both routine preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns, keeping our machinery running efficiently. Your skills will be critical in maintaining, fabricating, fitting and modifying plant equipment while ensuring safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
- Perform planned maintenance tasks to optimise equipment performance.
- Install and modify mechanical equipment in line with Calor specifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proactively report hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork promptly.
- Be flexible in supporting shift coverage and responding to urgent maintenance needs.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a production maintenance environment.
- A recognised City & Guilds certification in an engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in Welding (Arc, MIG, gas cutting), along with skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabricating and fitting desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with precision.
- Experience with operating lathes, mills, and drills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing maintenance needs.
- A thorough understanding of engineering standards and mechanical repairs.
- Must have the right to work and reside in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH/IOSH Safety qualification.
- COMPEX Qualification.
