Overview

About Calo
We’re a food-tech company that started in the GCC and have recently brought our mission to the UK: personalized, subscription-based, healthy meal plans that people actually enjoy.

Here’s the thing: UK operations are different. Labour is expensive, the rules are stricter, the customer expectations are higher — and the way we’ve always done things won’t cut it here. That’s where you come in.

The Challenge

We’re looking for someone who can take our UK operations and make them leaner, smarter, and sharper without losing the heart of what makes Calo special.

If you love a puzzle, if inefficiency makes your eye twitch, and if you believe food and tech should work with people (not against them) — this role is for you.

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Audit how we currently run things (kitchens, logistics, packaging, delivery, labour structure).
  • Spot the leaks: time, money, waste, unnecessary steps.
  • Re-design workflows, staffing models, and processes that fit the UK reality (not a GCC copy-paste).
  • Work with product to tweak packaging, menus, and customer experience so they’re both efficient and delightful.
  • Bring in smart tech and automation where it makes sense (and fight it off where it doesn’t).
  • Build playbooks so operations can scale without chaos.
  • Balance the math: reduce costs while keeping the food, the people, and the experience top-tier.

Who You Are

  • You’re part operator, part hacker, part designer.
  • You’ve worked in large-scale ops-heavy industries (F&B, food tech, dark kitchens, meal kits, D2C brands — or anything equally messy).
  • You enjoy going into the weeds (literally into the kitchen if needed), but can also zoom out and think strategy.
  • Numbers don’t scare you; inefficiency does. You’re analytical and turn the numbers into results.
  • You’re not a “that’s how it’s done” person. You’re a “what if we tried it this way?” person.
  • Ideally, you’ve worked in the UK market before, and know how to navigate labour costs, compliance, and the quirks of British customers.

What Success Looks Like

  • Lower operating costs without compromising food quality or customer experience.
  • Happier teams (because processes make sense).
  • UK ops that run like a different beast from GCC ops — but with the same Calo soul.
  • A scalable model that we can take from London to Manchester, Birmingham… and beyond.

The Perks

  • Be part of a growing food-tech brand expanding globally.
  • Work out of London with teams across GCC + UK.
  • Autonomy to actually make things happen, not just suggest them.
  • Free meals.
